Villa Calliope is an independent villa with a private swimming pool that can comfortably accommodate up to 10 + 3 people. The villa is located among the Lucca hills that separate the medieval city from the seaside. In just a few minutes from the villa, you can reach the Versilian beaches or the Renaissance walls of Lucca. Originally an old barn, thanks to the recent restoration carried out by the current owners, it has become an elegant and charming residence where the simple spaces of a country house have been transformed into harmonious settings. The alchemy between poor and rich materials has created the perfect home for a relaxing, comfortable holiday in the Lucca countryside. The house has preserved the characteristics of the old farmhouse, with the added comfort of a contemporary villa: all bedrooms are equipped with private bathrooms, there is a modern and fully-equipped kitchen, air conditioning is available in all rooms, an outdoor pool, and Wi-Fi enrich the property. The villa is 15 km from the historic center of Lucca, and due to its strategic location, it is easy to reach other major Tuscan cities such as Pisa, Florence, and Siena.

A private garden surrounding the house, carefully maintained with plants and flowers, creates a romantic atmosphere of the countryside, with tables and sunbeds around the pool. A wood-fired oven (can only be used with professional chefs) is located next to the veranda, in front of the study room.

Terms & Conditions
Included services:
Rental prices include one initial set of bed linen and towels, initial cleaning, gas for cooking and hot water.
Utilities & Extra Charges:
Electricity and heating are not included in the rental price. Based on previous seasons, electricity costs generally ranged from a minimum of €20 to a maximum of €80 per week, depending on usage.
Tourist tax, if applicable, is not included in the rental rate and must be paid on the spot in accordance with local regulations.
Security deposit, waste disposal & final inspection:
Upon departure, an inspection of the property will be carried out to verify that no items are missing and that there is no abnormal wear and tear on the property (e.g. broken windows, damaged furniture, burned linen). Guests are required to dispose of waste correctly, in accordance with the recycling instructions provided upon arrival. Failure to comply may result in a fine of up to €200, which will be deducted from the security deposit. Depending on the outcome of the inspection, the security deposit will be refunded.
For safety reasons, the use of the wood-fired oven and barbecue, where present, must be requested upon arrival and may be subject to restrictions in accordance with local environmental regulations.

Our family of three children, in-laws, and extended all visited Villa Calliope in late June. Elisa, the owner, was incredibly supportive and responsive from start to finish! She was great in conforming the booking, the check in process, assisting with special requests, and checking out! Our family wanted to arrange for a driver to local vineyards, Florence and La Spezia. Elisa’s recommendations were top notch! We also wanted a chef for dinner! The chef was truly fabulous! We got to hear her story! She set the most beautiful table. And the food was the best! The villa itself is breathtaking! The layout was perfect for our eight guests. Everyone had their own space to retreat and recharge. The patios, gazebo and pool were lovely for family time together. The house is fully equipped with all you need and was spotless! The driveway is accessible for all cars. The views from the villa are stunning! So many beautiful sunrises and sunsets were enjoyed by all! I can’t say enough and we will definitely be back again!

Had a wonderful time at this gorgeous Villa. It has been renovated to the max, yet has kept the charm of what you'd expect in a Villa. In person it is even better that the photos. Every amenity you would want is there. The scenery is spectacular. The pool and outside spaces and landscaping is beyond words beautiful.
We were 6 women and felt a little anxious about the private driveway. We rented a large 9 passenger van and had no trouble navigating up or down the driveway.
It is true that you must have a car. You cannot walk anywhere.
Elisa recommended to us a taxi driver who took us into Luca for dinner. We drove and parked outside the walls for taking the train or daytime excursions to Luca.
The chef also recommended to us by Elisa was superb.
Elisa is a true professional, and I was most impressed by how every single of our stay was managed and organized.... top notch and above and beyond my expectation of a property/vacation manager. Very hands on, and nothing is too much trouble for wonderful Elisa.
If you want to enjoy peace, quiet, beauty, luxury, then this Villa is the place for you!!

Hi all,
We spent 10 days in Villa Calliope (7 adults and 2 children) during August.
The stay was wonderful! The villa is in a very good condition matching the pictures. The garden is extremely well planned and kept. There’s a constant light smell of lavender. The rooms are very spacious and a big plus is the bathroom in each room. The villa is fully equipped with everything from a washing machine and drier to inflatable pool mattress. The pool is also great with an amazing view while still being concealed from the 2 neighboring villas. In my opinion, the neighbors are an advantage even if you’re looking for privacy, thanks to good planning.
Elisa who manages the villa is also super nice and helpful and even gave us a virtual tour.
Very recommended!
The location is also close to Lucca (ca. 25 min. Drive) and the surrounding offer some nice small restaurants a supermarket and bakery (10 min. Driving distance).
Small downsides. A car is a must and the access road is a little challenging, especially if you go when rain is forecasted (4x4 recommended). The mountainy landscape is great for the view and privacy, but doesn’t allow much hiking in the area and going to a restaurant or shopping by foot.
But, as I said, bottom line, a great place we would like to visit again!Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes

The villa was a dream. We had the best time out of all of the areas we visited during our trip (2+ weeks around France and Italy). Our kids loved the pool, the private chef who came recommended with the property was fantastic, and the accommodations were simply incredible. My family and I (five adults) had an absolutely lovely time at the property. This house wants for nothing. There is plenty of room for folks to spread out, as well as plenty of great spaces for coming together. The grounds and landscaping is superb. Eliza was always available and incredibly helpful. The only thing to be aware of is the unique road up to the house, however hardly an issue! We had two vehicles in our group and it was not a problem. Great location and cannot wait to come back!

Simone and Elisa were nice hosts and always (literally!) helpful. The property is beautifully located and arranged and allowed us to relax in the garden and by the pool and to feel comfortable. Indeed, access to the house it is not easy (a car is needed) as the main road and a supermarket are several kilometres away - but that didn't bother us. We really recommend a stay at villa Calliope!
