Lucca Comics & Games 2025 Wraps Up with Record Numbers. All Eyes on the 2026 Edition!

Lucca Comics & Games 2026 will take place from Wednesday, October 28 to Sunday, November 1, 2026, marking the 60th anniversary of the festival.
The 59th edition of Lucca Comics & Games has just come to an end — and once again, the city of Lucca has confirmed itself as the world capital of pop culture and creativity. With over 280,000 tickets sold, 17,000 accredited professionals, more than 900 international guests, and 30,000 cosplayers, the 2025 edition has set a new record.
This year’s theme, “French Kiss”, celebrated European cultural diversity with French illustrator Rébecca Dautremer as the artistic icon of the festival. One of the most emotional moments was the appearance of Japanese master Tetsuo Hara, creator of Fist of the North Star, who received the Yellow Kid Master of Comics Award. His self-portrait will now be displayed in Florence’s Uffizi Gallery — a historic first for a manga artist.
The magic of Lucca Comics will also continue on the big screen with “I Love Lucca Comics & Games”, a feature-length documentary directed by Manlio Castagna, hitting Italian cinemas on November 10–12, 2025.
And for those already dreaming of next year, the wait won’t be long: Lucca Comics & Games 2026 will take place from Wednesday, October 28 to Sunday, November 1, 2026, marking the 60th anniversary of the festival.
If you’re planning to attend, booking your accommodation early is essential — every year, Lucca and the surrounding area welcome thousands of visitors from all over the world.
